Let's face it - photographing small children can be extremely difficult. As a mom of three littles, I have pretty much given up on the idea of getting that perfectly "posed" photo. Instead, I have worked hard to perfect the art of non-posed, beautiful family photos. 

I often receive emails from happy clients thanking me for directing them so well during the session. Nothing is more uncomfortable for families than when they are standing there waiting for a photographer to tell them what to do, and no one is taking control. I pride myself in being able to direct clients while still being able to capture those authentic moments. I promise that you will never be just standing around, trying to figure out what to do! 

Here are a few things that you can expect when you come and see me. 

1. THE "POSED" PHOTO

I usually have about 5 minutes at the beginning of the session to capture the "Look and me and smile" photo. While I pride myself on my authentic work, everyone needs 1 or 2 of these. 

2. SNUGGLES

We will do a lot of this. "Tickle Mommy", "Run to Mommy and give her a huge hug", "Show me how much you love Daddy". 

3. MOVEMENT 

Children do not like to sit still. I capitalize on them running around. "Let's see who can run faster - you or your brother!" "What about Daddy? Can you beat him in a race?!" "Show me how high you can jump." Most parents prep their kids to sit still and smile at the camera - not with me! Tell them we are going to have some fun, and Adrienne will take some pictures of us playing! 

4. DETAILS 

The detail shots are what get me EVERY time as a mom. I NEED to capture their little hands, toes, curls.... these are the things that I need to remember, need to hold onto, and need to document. These go in a frame EVERY time.
